Rambling
May 20th, 2007Mik told me that the hot guy from Fall Out Boy is dating Asslee Simpson. And that sucks. I mean, come on dude, that better be some kind of a joke or something. I was so close to giving you the benefit of the doubt.
Maybe it’s his plan for when the monkeys come back to steal his woman again. Like, Asslee is his backup girlfriend that he gives over to the monkeys, and he’s all Goddammit monkeys, stop following me around and steeling my womens. Here, take this useless hoor, ok? Now we’re even.
It’s the only thing that makes logical sense. Either that or some boys are just stoopid.
Also– I got a copy of Gerard Way’s comic (The Umbrella Academy) which they were giving out on Free Comic Book Day. And sadly, I must report that I did not like it. Because it’s a mess. There’s too much jammed into what is basically a minicomic. Come on, dude. I know you played D&D. Intro your characters better. You can’t start all in media res when we have no clue what your media is all about and cause it’s a minicomic there’s no time to tell us.
Saddest of all, the art is no good. It’s not the worst art I’ve ever seen in a comic, but I’d say to call it mediocre would be more than fair.
It sucks. A whole lot of a bunch, because Gerard is hot and you want the hot peoples to do well.
Plus, the cover was so awesome and gothy and cool. I was really jazzed about this comic, partly because of Gerard’s previous total commitment to all things deathly and rad and also because of the really awesome cover. You guys, I hate it when the cover is awesome and the inner art sucks. It makes me feel like I’ve been tricked.
So in conclusion:
–If monkeys are gonna steel your woman, maybe you should keep a sucky spare around to just give to them so they will go away.
–Sometimes it would be cool if the person doing your rad comix cover could, you know, maybe do the whole thing.
